Now that book sales are really starting to pick up, I am starting to think more about the next book in the Bubbles series. I already know that I want to bring him and his family back to New Mexico for the next leg in his journey. The only problem is, being from around here, we have so many awesome ghosts tales, I am hard pressed to pick just one. Right now, it is a toss up between La Llorona and Billy the Kid.
La Llorona is a mexican folk tale of a young girl who gets in a bad way and end up harming her children and herself After her death, she is supposed to try and steal all little children who are out after dark or who don't obey their parents. Basically, our answer to the Boogey Man.
Those of us who are from New Mexico know that Billy the Kid was not really an outlaw, he just chose the right side that ended up being a wrong decision.
At this point, I am seriously starting to consider just flipping a coin and being done with it. However, I know better than that, so I suppose I will just have to go and think some more.
