After much mulling and hemming and hawing, I have finally decided what the next book in the series is going to be about.
We are going to bring the Hanson's BACK to New Mexico and discover the secrets of our local myth and legend, La Llorona! This folk tale will not only enable me to put an entirely new twist on it, something I have been dying to do for quite some time now, but it will also provide me with the fabulous opportunity to share some of our rich culture and heritage with my loyal fans.
La Llorona is a folk tale about a woman who loses her children in the river and is doomed to walk the earth in search of them. There are several different versions of this tale, and no matter where you go in the southwest, that region will claim her as her own. My preliminary research has actually placed the original story of Llorona in Guatamala in the time of Cortez.
Of course, as with The Witch's Revenge, I am going to have to carefully research all angles of the story before I am able to began the writing process. I do not want to misrepresent facts. I assure all of you who enjoyed the first book that the next in the series will not take me nearly as long to complete, and I have already began on the writing of the first chapter.
For those of you that are anxiously awaiting One Stone, the story is coming along nicely, and I am actually two chapters away from completion. The issue is going to be the editing process. I will keep you all updated on the actual release date.
